디모데전서 6장 6 ~ 10절
그러나 지족하는 마음이 있으면 경건이 큰 이익이 되느니라
우리가 세상에 아무것도 가지고 온 것이 없으매 또한 아무것도 가지고 가지 못하리니
우리가 먹을 것과 입을 것이 있은즉 족한 줄로 알 것이니라
부하려 하는 자들은 시험과 올무와 여러 가지 어리석고 해로운 정욕에 떨어지나니 곧 사람으로 침륜과 멸망에 빠지게 하는 것이라
돈을 사랑함이 일만 악의 뿌리가 되나니 이것을 사모하는 자들이 미혹을 받아 믿음에서 떠나 많은 근심으로써 자기를 찔렀도다

But godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
But if we have good and clothing, we will be content with that.
Peoplo who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
For the love of money is root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

And religion does make your life rich, by making you content with what you have.
We didn't bring anything into this world, and we won't take anything with us when we leave.
So we should be satisfied just to have food and clothes.
People who want to be rich fall into all sorts of temptations and traps. They are caught by foolish and harmful desires that drag them down and destroy them.
The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much that they have given up their faith and caused themselves a lot of pain.
