마태복음 6장 5 ~ 8절

또 너희는 기도할 때에 외식하는 자와 같이 되지 말라 저희는 사람에게 보이려고 회당과 큰 거리 어귀에 서서 기도하기를 좋아하느니라 내가 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 저희는 자기 상을 이미 받았으니라
너는 기도할 때에 네 골방에 들어가 문을 닫고 은밀한 중에 계신 네 아버지께 기도하라 은밀한 중에 보시는 네 아버지께서 갚으시리라
또 기도할 때에 이방인과 같이 중언 부언하지 말라 저희는 말을 많이 하여야 들으실 줄 생각하느니라
그러므로 저희를 본받지 말라 구하기 전에 너희에게 있어야 할 것을 하나님 너희 아버지께서 아시느니라

MATTHEW 6 : 5 ~ 8

NIV:
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you truth, they have received their reward in full.
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling ike pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

CEV:
When you pray, don't be like those show-offs who love to stand up and pray in the meeting places and on the street corners. They do this just to look good. I can assure you that they already have their reward.
When you pray, go into a room alone and close the door. Pray to your Father in private. He knows what is done in private, and he will reward you.
When you pray, don't talk on and on as people do who don't know God. They think God likes to hear long prayers.
Don't be like them. Your Father knows what you need before you ask.
