누가복음 11장 9 ~ 13절

내가 또 너희에게 이르노니 구하라 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요 찾으라 그러면 찾을 것이요 문을 두드리라 그러면 너희에게 열릴 것이니

구하는 이마다 받을 것이요 찾는 이가 찾을 것이요 두드리는 이에게 열릴 것이니라

너희 중에 아비 된 자 누가 아들이 생선을 달라하면 생선 대신에 뱀을 주며

알을 달라 하면 전갈을 주겠느냐

너희가 악할지라도 좋은 것을 자식에게 줄 줄알거든 하물며 너희 천부께서 구하는 자에게 성령을 주시지 않겠느냐 하시니라

LUKE 11: 9 ~ 13

NIV:
"So I say to you : Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

"Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead?

Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!."

CEV:
So I tell you to ask and you will receive, search and you will find, knock and the door will be opened for you.

Everyone who asks will receive, everyone who searches will find, and the door will be opened for everyone who knocks.

Which one of you fathers would give your hungry child a snake if the child asked for a fish?

Which one of you would give your child a scorpion if the child asked for an egg?

As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.
